KENTA TAKAKI

Kenta Takaki 高木健多

Born in Kumamoto Prefecture in 1986. 
Studied under Kanazawa Kazuhiro V of Amakusa City Maruo Ware. 

During his training, he felt the strength of lumps of clay while making Amakusa pottery clay. 
He built a kiln in Koshi City and became independent. 
He continues to create works that express the energy of matter by likening the hard, 
white porcelain of Amakusa clay to tofu. 

"When you actually touch it, you feel the weight and texture of the material. 
The energy that the clay lumps emit is the very impulse to create."

1986年、熊本県生まれ。
天草市丸尾焼　五代目金澤一弘に師事。

修行時代の天草陶石の土作りを通して土の塊の力強さを感じた。
合志市に築窯し独立。
天草陶土の固く白い磁器を豆腐にみたて物質のエネルギーを表現する作品づくりを続けている。

”実際に触れて感じるのは物質の重みであり手触りだ。
土塊が発するエネルギーは、創作への衝動そのものだ。”
