KAORI AZUMA

Growing up all throughout Japan, Kaori Azuma never stayed in one place for too long. Change, for her, was never-ending, but one thing remained consistent: shells. 

No matter where she lived, Azuma found and collected shells. These lasting, familiar memories of collecting them in her childhood continue to influence her artistry today. She still travels along shores in search of them, and often incorporates the material into her work.

Her designs possess a delicate, tranquil quality, invoking the same sense of peace one can feel when looking back at their own childhood memories.
